Take this day to rest, acclimate to the altitude, and prepare for your upcoming adventure. You may also use this time to explore the vibrant streets of Kathmandu, visit local markets, or arrange last-minute gear. In the evening, you will have a briefing session with your trekking guide to discuss the itinerary and ensure all preparations are in place.

After breakfast, Scenic drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi, the gateway to the Langtang region. The journey, approximately 7-8 hours, winds through picturesque valleys, terraced fields, and quaint villages. Syabrubesi sits at 1,550 meters and offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Upon arrival, you will check into a guesthouse and enjoy a well-deserved rest. Take a stroll around the village and soak in the natural beauty and local culture.

Your trek officially begins today as you follow the Langtang River upstream, passing through lush forests of rhododendron, oak, and pine. The trail is peaceful, dotted with small Tamang villages and prayer flags fluttering in the breeze. After about 5-6 hours of trekking, you will reach Lama Hotel, a charming tea house nestled in a beautiful forested valley. This is a perfect spot to relax, enjoy the mountain air, and prepare for the next day’s ascent.

Today’s trek is more challenging as you ascend higher into the Langtang Valley. The trail takes you through mixed forests and across several suspension bridges, with panoramic views of Langtang Lirung and other towering peaks. You will pass through small settlements and have opportunities to meet friendly locals. By afternoon, you will arrive at Langtang Village, a traditional Sherpa settlement that was rebuilt after the 2015 earthquake. Here, enjoy the serene atmosphere and explore the village.

From Langtang Village, the trail climbs steadily towards Kyanjin Gompa, an important Buddhist monastery and a center of local culture. The scenery along the way becomes more alpine, with fewer trees and more rocky terrain. Kyanjin Gompa offers stunning views of snow-capped peaks such as Langtang Lirung and Ganesh Himal. Explore the monastery, visit the cheese factory, and rest well to prepare for the next day’s hike.

For the adventurous, today is a day hike to Tserko Ri, a high vantage point that offers breathtaking 360-degree views of the Langtang range and beyond. The hike is steep and challenging, but the panoramic vistas of Himalayan peaks and glaciers are well worth the effort. After soaking in the views, you will descend back to Kyanjin Gompa for an overnight stay and a chance to relax.

Today, you retrace your steps down the valley, descending back to Lama Hotel. The trek is easier but long, allowing you to enjoy the peaceful mountain environment once more. Take time to appreciate the flora and fauna of the region and the vibrant colors of the forest before reaching Lama Hotel in the late afternoon.

From Lama Hotel, your trek takes a slightly different route to Thulo Syabru, a village known for its hospitable locals and stunning mountain views. The trail passes through forests and terraced fields, with ample opportunities to experience rural Nepali life. Thulo Syabru is a perfect spot to rest, interact with villagers, and prepare for the higher altitude ahead.

This day involves a steady climb to Sing Gompa, a Buddhist monastery and settlement located in a spectacular alpine valley. The trail traverses mixed forests and opens up to dramatic mountain landscapes. Sing Gompa is a serene place, ideal for acclimatization and soaking in the spirituality of the region. Enjoy the peaceful environment and prepare for the next day’s trek to Gosaikunda.

Today’s trek is one of the highlights, as you ascend towards the sacred Gosaikunda Lake, a high-altitude alpine freshwater lake revered by both Hindus and Buddhists. The trail is steep but rewarding, offering spectacular views of snow-covered peaks and rugged terrain. Arrive at Gosaikunda in the afternoon and spend time exploring the lake and its surroundings. The area is known for its spiritual significance and pristine natural beauty.

After an early morning exploration of Gosaikunda Lake and its nearby smaller lakes, you will begin the descent to Chandanbari (near Sing Gompa). The downhill trail is less strenuous and offers the chance to appreciate the landscape from a different perspective. Relax in the welcoming village of Chandanbari, reflecting on the beauty and cultural richness of the trek.

Your trek continues downwards through forests and terraced fields towards Dhunche, the administrative center of the Rasuwa district. This leg of the trek is less demanding and provides a gentle transition back to lower altitudes. Enjoy the sights of rural villages, rice paddies, and the bustling market town atmosphere of Dhunche.

After breakfast, a private vehicle will drive you back to Kathmandu. The drive offers beautiful views of the valleys and hills you have trekked through. Upon arrival, you will check into your hotel and have the evening free to relax or explore the lively city one last time. You may also wish to celebrate the completion of your trek with a traditional Nepali dinner.

Today is your departure day. After breakfast, an Alture Treks representative will transfer you to Tribhuvan International Airport for your onward flight. These tea houses provide a cozy atmosphere, often with common dining areas and warm fireplaces, perfect for relaxing after a day’s trek. Alture Treks carefully selects reputable lodges that offer clean rooms and hot showers whenever possible, maintaining a good balance between comfort and authenticity.

Meals on the trail typically consist of hearty Nepali dishes such as dal bhat (lentil soup with rice), momo (dumplings), noodles, and soups to keep you energized. The availability of fresh vegetables and meats varies with altitude, so the menu often adapts accordingly. Alture Treks ensures that trekkers have access to nutritious and diverse food options, including vegetarian meals, and advises on how to maintain energy levels with adequate hydration and balanced nutrition throughout the trek.
The Langtang Gosaikunda Trek is classified as a moderate to moderately challenging trek. It is suitable for trekkers with a reasonable level of fitness and some prior trekking experience, especially due to the altitude gains and some steep ascents. The trek involves walking on rugged trails through forested valleys and high-altitude passes, with the highest point being around 5,000 meters at Tserko Ri.

Altitude acclimatization is crucial, and the itinerary is designed with adequate rest days and gradual elevation gains to minimize the risk of altitude sickness. Alture Treks provides comprehensive guidance and support throughout the trek, including advice on acclimatization strategies and physical preparation to ensure a safe and enjoyable trekking experience.

The Langtang Gosaikunda region experiences distinct seasons that greatly influence trekking conditions. The best times to embark on this trek are during the pre-monsoon (March to May) and post-monsoon (September to November) seasons, when the weather is generally clear, temperatures are moderate, and the mountain views are spectacular. Spring brings blooming rhododendrons and wildflowers, while autumn offers crisp air and stunning panoramic vistas.

Winter trekking is possible but colder, with some trails covered in snow and less crowded paths. The monsoon season (June to August) brings heavy rainfall, making trails slippery and less safe. Alture Treks provides up-to-date weather forecasts and equips trekkers with necessary gear recommendations to handle changing weather conditions, ensuring preparedness no matter when you choose to trek.

Along the way, trekkers enjoy panoramic views of the Langtang Himalayan range and have the unique opportunity to visit the sacred lake, especially during the Janai Purnima festival, when thousands of pilgrims come to bathe in its holy waters.

This trek is considered moderate to challenging due to the longer duration, varied terrain, and high altitude involved. The trek typically lasts about 12–14 days with daily walking times ranging from 5 to 8 hours. The highest point, Gosaikunda Lake at 4,380 meters, requires careful acclimatization to prevent altitude sickness. Trekkers should have a good level of fitness and some prior trekking experience is helpful, though the route is well-marked and guided by professional staff from Alture Treks to ensure safety and comfort.

The optimal trekking seasons are spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November). During these months, the weather is stable, the skies are clear, and the views of the snow-capped peaks are spectacular. Spring offers beautiful rhododendron blooms in the lower regions, while autumn provides crisp air and excellent visibility. The Janai Purnima festival in August is a special time to visit Gosaikunda, though it means more pilgrims and crowded trails. Winter trekking is possible but more challenging due to snow and cold temperatures.

In Kathmandu, you will stay in a comfortable hotel with modern amenities.

The package includes airport transfers, all ground transportation, hotel accommodation in Kathmandu, all meals during the trek, a licensed English-speaking trekking guide, porters, and all necessary permits including the Langtang National Park permit, ACAP permit, and the TIMS card.
